Made during the Reign of George III by Richard Rugg of London in 1762, this handsome salver bears the arms of Elton Barnes Hughes, L Middleton Stoney and those of Oxfordshire.
The salver measures 22 inches (56cm) diameter.
With a later presentation inscription on the reverse:
To a most distinguished shipbuilder Sir Donald MacLean Skiffington CBE Clydebank 1892-1952’
