Pieces of this age, quality and size in rock crystal are rarely found given the fragile nature of the piece. We are therefore pleased to offer this excellent 19th century work of art in superb condition. On a shaped circular foot, surmounted by an eagle finial on the fluted cover. The body is caved with bands of overlapping shells, the heads of classical military figures flanking a central carved cartouche with a crest of a crown above a rampant lion. The gold mounts decorated with geometric enamelwork in blue black and white. 15 3/4 inches (40cm) tall.
